The theme this year was Community as Superpower. Images from the Moomins (books by Tove Jansson) were given to participating groups. It’s 80 years since the first Moomins book was published.
Two displays were arranged in Skipton library and at Skipton Town Hall.


Elsewhere in the district, refugee support groups ran events, talks and workshops.

Olha Zhydetska ran two workshops in Settle on Ukrainian art using crepe paper. Both workshops, held at Settle Victoria Hall, sold out.

Sarah Lister, local researcher, gave a talk about migration within the Craven area, using Settle as a case study. She linked reasons why people move around and have always moved around, with today’s refugee situation and talked about communiy as superpower in supporting individuals and families.

Tim Smith spoke about the movement of Polish and Ukrianian people in the UK. He has an exhibition in Bradford in July. Tu-i-tam-tyt-i-tam means here and there in English

The Folly museum in Settle put on a relevant display showing artefacts from around the area

Limestone Books in Settle put on a special display for the week, highlighting the refugee experience.
