Kite flying

Members of Syrian and Afghan families met up with local friends in August to fly kites in the park. Kite flying is a national pastime in Afghanistan but has been banned by the Taliban recently. Flying kites reminds people of home and shows a determination not to be subdued. And it’s fun!
