Refugee Week 19-25 June 2023

We are currently planning activities for Refugee Week.

19th June starting at 19.00 Online session about Craven District of Sanctuary

Several libraries will have displays and events with a theme of Compassion.

Skipton library will host a District of Sanctuary display where information can be obtained about the new project, between 14th – 26th June. The library will also have its own in-house display as in previous years.

Settle library will be providing coffee and cake with poetry readings June 19th 10.00-12.00

Bentham and Ingleton libraries will have displays

Bentham Refugee Support group is planning a street vigil with music and a coffee morning to raise funds for Choose Love

A Ukrainian music and food event takes place at lunchtime at Settle Victoria Hall on Wednesday 21st June

Skipton Refugee Support group has an event with poetry and prose readings in the library on Tuesday 20th June from 19.00. They will have a stall outside the library on the morning of Saturday 24th June 10.00 – 13.00

A new children’s book is published in June with input from local people Katie Daynes and Fiona Protheroe. It’s a pop up book called Lift the Flap. Questionsand answers about refugee issues and will appeal to adults as well as young children
